Site Information
Located in East Hampshire, the site spans just under 2.5 hectares of open countryside on the northern edge of the village of Lindford. Lindford lies about 1 mile north of Boden, roughly 7 miles east of Alton, and 8-10 miles south of Farnham and Aldershot. With good highway connections, the A325 provides access to the A31 to the north and the A3 to the south. The nearest railway station is in Liphock, approximately 4 miles southeast of the village.
Lindford is home to roughly 2,700 residents and is part of a cluster of several small settlements including Borden, Headley, and Whitehill. The village boasts various amenities such as a local shop, post office, dentist, hairdresser, church, and village hall.
The site sits to the north of an existing residential area, with mature woodland to the northeast and west. The River Wey defines the site boundary. Apart from an area of mature planting that intersects the site, the site appears to be free from any major physical constraints.
Site Planning Update
East Hampshire District Council is in the process of reviewing its local plan with several steps scheduled for 2022. The council is currently conducting the Issues and Options consultation, which began in November 2022 and is still ongoing. We are advocating for the development of a mixed-use residential site, including a C2 care home facility.
Part 2 of the consultation process is the next step, which is planned for September 2023, followed by the publication of the draft plan in early 2024. Additionally, we are working on identifying alternative access routes to the site to accommodate the care home.
